That PTA’s Book Munchers lunchtime reading club will run between October 20th and 31st. (We’ll have another session this winter). First through fourth grade students are invited!

How it works: Students choose a book to borrow. They bring it home to read and back to school for the meetings. Meetings are during their lunch hour with other students in their grade (who chose the same book) and led by a volunteer (usually a parent). Two meetings are scheduled for each book/session. There will be two sessions this year.

This fun and enriching activity only works because you volunteer. Your commitment can be as little as two lunch hours with a small group of students – and the time it takes to read the book! Some parents create games or other activities related to the book while some just discuss or read aloud. This is a great opportunity for working parents to volunteer at school because it’s just fun.
