Sports Day For CVE

Reminder:

Sports Day will be Tuesday, June 7th with a rain date of June 9th.

Please have your athlete wear comfy clothes, tennis shoes and bring sun tan lotion, hat and a water bottle with his/her name boldly written on it. Closer to the time your child will receive a paper identifying what color shirt he/she should wear for the exciting day.  This makes it easier for the volunteers to separate the teams quickly and efficiently.  Kindergarten – Second Grade will be held in the morning and Third- Fifth grade will be held in the afternoon.

Parent Volunteers are needed:

In order for this day to be a great fun filled success, we need dedicated parents to volunteer to help out the day of the event.  If you are interested, then please sign up on the website below:

CVE Yearbooks

If you forgot to order a 2009-2010 CVE Yearbook, you’re in luck! The printer sent us some extra copies with our order. Every class has its own page in the yearbook — and there are lots of pages filled with candid pictures of field trips, spirit days, sports day and other special school activities. If you’d like to purchase a copy, please send payment to the office of $22.00 (checks payable to “CVE PTA”) c/o Katherine Wikstrom. Let us know your child’s name and teacher and we’ll get your copy. Quantities are limited.

Also, please consider being a part of the 2010-2011 Yearbook Committee!! Most of the work can be done at home on your own schedule. We need parents from every grade to ensure that the yearbook includes all the students and as many events as possible. We need volunteers to:

  • Take pictures of parties, field trips, events and everyday activities. 2. Collect and organize photos (photos usually are digital). 3. Create yearbook pages through vendor’s online website.

Register Your Giant Bonus Cards

Dear Parents:

Welcome to the start of a new school year and another year of A+ School Rewards. Starting October 8, 2010 through March 25, 2011 CVE will have the opportunity to earn cash through Giant A+ School Rewards Program.

All you have to do is:

Log on to www.giantfood.com/aplus to register online

OR

Dial 1-877-275-2758 to register your card over the phone

After you register your card, each shopping trip at Giant using your GIANT Card earns CASH for our school!  Each month, the amount of CASH awarded will be updated on the Giant website.  You can track the amount of points you earn for our school by checking your grocery receipt and online when you create an account at giantfood.com.  Our school will receive a check at the end of the program.  The money can be used for any of our school’s educational needs.

Remember, even if you registered your card last year, you must re-register this year for our school to receive credit. Attending to this simple process makes a HUGE difference to our school. We need your support. Please be sure to register your card to benefit Cromwell Valley Elementary using ID # 02742

Also, don’t forget to encourage your friends and relatives to do the same.  It could mean the world to our children.

Project Clean Stream

Mark the Date!!! Project Clean Stream April 10, 2010

When we became a Green School we also adopted the stream that runs along the side of our school.
Each year Baltimore County works with the Alliance of Chesapeake Bay and cleans the stream in
Maryland. We need of students, parents and teachers to help with the project. If you would like to help
please contact Angela Middleton.
We have lots of different types of jobs for everyone to do, not just cleaning. So if you are not able to
walk the stream but still want to help there is a job for you.
