Sports Day For CVE

Reminder:

Sports Day will be Tuesday, June 7th with a rain date of June 9th.

Please have your athlete wear comfy clothes, tennis shoes and bring sun tan lotion, hat and a water bottle with his/her name boldly written on it. Closer to the time your child will receive a paper identifying what color shirt he/she should wear for the exciting day.  This makes it easier for the volunteers to separate the teams quickly and efficiently.  Kindergarten – Second Grade will be held in the morning and Third- Fifth grade will be held in the afternoon.

Book Fair/Spring Fair

Come explore at our Scholastic Book Fair…

Scholastic Book Fairs are a great way to get wonderful books at very reasonable prices! There are books for all ages and budgets. Consider purchasing books for:
•  Spring Break reading    • Reading encouragement •  Teacher / classroom gifts    • Summer Vacation reading

When: Fri, April 1
Time: 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Where: CVE Cafeteria

If you can’t attend the Book Fair, you may still use the attached book fair flyer to pre-order books! Submit orders by Thurs, March 31. Be sure to add 6% tax and include your child’s name and teacher. Make checks payable to “CVE.” Expect order delivery within 10 days.
Book sale proceeds benefit CVE’s specials teachers: music, art, gym, technology and library.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Tickets


At the First Mariner Arena

Support Cromwell Valley PTA, and get discounted tickets to see the Circus with your family! Every ticket you buy is $5 off the face value ($26 ticket for $21)! PLUS there are no extra service charges – which saves you even more money!

There are 11 shows to choose from this year:

Please select your show carefully – all ticket sales are final sales.

Tickets may be picked up in person at CVE on Friday, March 25 from 8:40 until 9:20 in the lobby. Otherwise they will be sent home via backpack in a sealed envelope.

Chess Club Tussles With Timonium

The CVE Chess Club played a tournament hosting Timonium Elementary’s team in the CVE library. Twenty six of our 3rd thru 5th graders played great and were excellent hosts and competitors. While Timonium won this match we should be very proud of our effort and spirit- Timonium’s team is much more experienced and meets every week. Our parent volunteers were fantastic and we really appreciate Timonium bringing some of their alumni now in middle school as well as their parents and teachers who came to help.
Special thanks to Ms Groth for hosting, the CVE maintenance crew for such quick set-up, and Mr. Gromek for checking on things.
We are traveling to Carroll Manor on Feb 24 and are looking for car-pool assistance! Contact Mike Beegan or Tony Bonta to help.

A Few Things…

We have another change to the Gigabyte Giveaway and Box Top store. Below you will see the new schedule for the week.

  • Wednesday 2/2 School Banking
  • Wednesday 2/2 Box Top Store open during lunch
  • Wednesday 2/2 Disney on Ice orders due. (attached is the order form)
  • Thursday 2/3 Gigabyte chances on sale during lunch/ Winners drawn after lunch.
  • Friday 2/4 6 to 8pm. Family Bingo. Don’t forget to buy your ticket/Space is limited. Bring your own picnic/ No Food will be sold.

There are seats available for BINGO night and attached is a copy of the ticket order form. If you have questions about the BINGO night please contact Christine Pitcher.
