Not sure if the kids will make it back to school this week. So Just wanted to extend warm wishes for a wonderful holiday and safe and happy break. Thanks to all who have volunteer their time or helped with an activity or project. Your assistance is key to the success of the PTA. Thanks to everyone! Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2010!

Great work to all those who came out to “dash” at the first annual Digital Dash. The weather was great and the teachers & Staff did a wonderful job cheering on the Dashers. What fun. Our legs are tired from the 8 miles!
Such a fun CVE day and awesome school spirit!

Dust off those backpacks and lunch boxes. Its Back to School time! Hope you came make it to the annual Welcome Back Picnic sponsored by the PTA. Meet your teacher and see your classroom from 5-5:30 and then join us out back by the playground for music, Rita’s, magic and good friends from 5:30-7pm. Its a great chance to visit with old friends and make new ones. Please join us!

Open Committee chair positions: Please consider helping out, or team up with a friend!
Special Education: keeps on top of special needs within/relevant to CVE
Hospitality (2 chairs needed): coordinates the donation needs for school events such as Muffins for mom, Donuts for Dad, Back to school night, Teacher appreciation week, American Ed week. and includes set-up and clean up.
Multicultural fair (2-3 chairs): coordinating our annual event and oversees performances, foods, crafts, etc.
Silent Auction ( 2 chairs): coordinates donations and class baskets for our annual fundraiser. Well attended and supported by CVE.
Family Fun (1-2 chairs): coordinated CVE community building events such as Fall Harvest, Movie Night, Family BBQ, bowling night and other family inspired events.
Market Day Chair or co-chair: monthly grocery order program. Fliers/circulars are provided each month and need to be distributed, orders are placed though the website and food is delivered once a moth to CVE for parent pick up. The chairs can oversee the process with the help of the MD rep and assist with food pick-up.

Monday June 8, Dr. Ron Reich received the Spirit of Cromwell award from the PTA for his outstanding and devoted service to CVE. He was very touched. He also received gift certificates for Silver Mining Company and Barnes and Noble. The plaque is on display in the CVE lobby in the glass case.
Final PTA meeting this Thursday June 11. The new officers will be installed and final reminders will be announced. Babysitting will be available. 6:30 in the CVE library.
Thanks for your continued support this year and we look forward to an even better one next year!

Hope to see everyone at CVE Friday 5/29. It’s our last Family Fun event of this school year. At 5:45, there will be a general vote for the new slate of officers proposed for the 2009-2010 PTA Board. Afterwards, bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy Andy’s Nelson’s pulled pork or beef sandwich meals. Only $8 each and that includes the sandwich, chips, drink and dessert. It’s a steal. The kids can also enjoy some play on the playground. At 7pm, we will have the Ultimate Gameshow experience in the gym. Its for all ages and the whole family. Hope to see you there. Next PTA Meeting is this Thursday May 21st at 6:30pm. Please join us, cause its almost the end of the year! Refreshments and babysitting will be available. Please register for babysitting in advance. A representative from the Magnet office and BCPS will be there to answer any questions about next year.
